Survived And Thriving (Awww Mondays)
These kittens were born in late December last year, originally all four of them. They were thriving well then, but their mama cat got run over just in front of our place and died
And for the first time since we had cats, this is the first time we lost a mother cat with tiny kittens. We were worried what to do. Thankfully there are fb groups of fur parents who can advise.
It was a very tiring task for my 15 year old son to take care of them, feeding them every 3 hours (I think) with a small syringe. Other two kittens also didn't make it, one after the other, which was quite a heartbreak.
Moving on, we got to order a bottle feeder set for pets online via shopee, which helped a lot.
A few weeks later, the surviving two kittens were able to eat cat food (wet) then slowly shifted to feeding on tuna or sardines with rice.
The challenging part for me is when my son went on vacation and had to leave the kittens. But it went well, a learning curve for the kitties as they were able to thrive and were weaned from milk.
We also had to leave them alone for a 2 day vacation, with only our other son as a minder who fed them once a day whenever he checked on the house. So far, when we returned they were ok. Even exploring out and leaving the bahay kubo where we kept them..

Here's my grand daughter, Rain and my youngest son, the 15 year-old who owns those kittens.

Oh, I'm so glad some of the kittens survived but how sad the mama was killed. I remember years ago as a child, we had a chihuahua that had puppies. My siblings and I curious to hold the new born pups did so but the mama didn't like this as her scent was no longer on them and she attacked them nearly killing the entire litter. My mother nursed those little babies but I think only one survived. That was so heartbreaking and an experience I'll never forget. Thanks for stopping by to enjoy the music on Monday's Music Moves Me. Perhaps, you'd like to join the party some time. ;) Have a boogietastic week!
Bless you and your family for rescuing those two little cuties. Sorry about the mama cat and the two that didn't make it. Hopefully these babies will thrive and be a wonderful addition to your family.
Thanks for stopping by and your invitation to visit you here.
What a heartwarming post. Sorry about the mom and two of her kittens, but you took care of the other two and they are doing so well. So cute too.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to the kittens. ♥
Thanks for the visit back, Cathy! Yes, we are glad too that our kittens are okay now and growing well. It is quite so sad to lose pets even whilst caring for them round-the-clock, but it is inevitable when the mother cat is gone, my son was so grieved over those kittens that didn't make it. But then such joy we have now that these ones left are ok. It is a learning curve that we succeeded in!
Thanks for the invite to Monday's Music Moves Me, I will be sure to join next time. I miss something like that which I've joined in before, I think it was called Music Monday but now it's no longer active. I found the music you shared so inspiring!
